Puerto Rico’s Iguana and the Coquí Mural By Roa

Belgian artist Roa took to Calle Lloveras in San Juan, Puerto Rico for last fall's Los Muros Hablan Festival to produce this magnificent work of an Iguana gripping (perhaps strangulating) a small frog. The frog is a Coquí, a small native amphibian to the island. Meanwhile, Iguanas, which are not native to Puerto Rico, have been creating a lot of problems as they have taken their toll on the economy and the environment. Seek and destroy missions have been formed as a result. A powerful eco-political statement by Roa to be sure. via SAN
